The displacement measuring system SGS is developed for recording the thermal extension of high speed milling machine spindles. This enables the active compensation of the axial spindle extension via a CNC machine tool.
The displacement measuring system SGS uses the eddy current measuring principle. The sensor is integrated in the spindle. All sensor-specific data are stored in the sensor ( EEPROM) . After changing the spindle, the system is ready to run without any calibration.
